Our Promise
We are committed to directing our efforts towards ensuring that all children in our care achieve their developmental goals – cognitive, physical, social and emotional, and that they develop a strong foundation for their future schooling and a positive attitude towards education, so they may become self-assured, confident life long learners.
We are committed to providing the best of resources in terms of learning materials, activities, programs and teaching skills necessary to:
- Nurture every child’s self-confidence and social skills,
- Evoke wonder and curiosity to learn about the world around us, and
- Facilitate the foundational development of language and math skills
We are committed to partnering with all parents in developing a community that comes together with a common purpose of bringing out the best in all children and helping them become responsible, active and contributing future citizens of Singapore and the world!
How we care
“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow” – Anthony J D’Angelo
There are few human endeavors more fulfilling than being able to positively influence another life. At Little Skittles, we consider it a privilege to be able to pursue such an endeavor in early childhood education and we take the responsibility of delivering excellence in this field with the seriousness it deserves with an equal measure of enthusiasm.
Our goal is to help children develop a positive attitude towards learning and education. With the right attitude the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in any endeavour can never be too far!
“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil” – C. S. Lewis
Success in life is largely if not completely dependent on one’s personal choices and social skills. To excel in these elements, one needs a deep-seated foundation in universal human values that are best learnt at an early age. We plan group activities that create opportunities to impart basic yet essential values such as honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating others the way one would want to be treated and helping those in need.
Our goal is to help children understand their own needs and feelings, interact socially and empathetically, develop lasting friendships, be aware of the needs of others and develop their own moral compass so that they are able to make better decisions for themselves, and interact positively and effectively with others around them.
“A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning” – Brad Henry
We go to great lengths to offer children a safe and pleasant environment conducive for learning. We organize wide range of activities to develop every child’s self-confidence and social skills; verbal and gross motor skills; logical and critical thinking; and evoke an interest in music and nature. We deliver the scientifically developed, well-researched, world-class International Preschool Curriculum®. But our greatest strength and our most invaluable assets lie in our teachers who are not only among the most experienced and qualified, they also back their skills with great passion and talent for early childhood education.
Our curriculum
The International Preschool Curriculum (IPC) is an innovative approach to education designed to meet the challenges of 21st Century learners. It values the importance of acquiring skills and developing knowledge in the context of today’s world. The IPC framework also allows educators to identify multiple-intelligences (Howard Gardner) in every child by focusing on a combination of academic, personal (character education) and international learning. To make the learning process real and meaningful, children are empowered to apply the knowledge and skills they aquire through innovative activities that are specifically designed to reinforce the learning objectives.
The units of study are delivered in a thematic form. Each theme weaves together a variety of subjects in an integrated, logical manner to help children gain a wholesome understanding of the world around them. Learning strands of this approach are designed to inspire creativity, and curiousity, and help form the foundational knowledge and skills essential for future growth. Each theme covers a combination of subjects such as Science, Technology, History, Geography, ICT (Information, Communication & Technology), Music and Arts.
IPC Objectives
-
Objective Based – Clearly defined objectives help facilitate assessment and highlight areas of student progress or concern
-
Inquiry Based – Limited aspects of inquiry based education designed to spark and maintain interest levels
-
Play Based – By making learning fun, children are exposed to a learning environment that is second nature
-
Developmentally Appropriate – The IPC believes that all children develop at varying paces not necessarily defined by age
-
Family Involvement – The IPC believes that families should be at the center stage of their child’s education
-
Content Learning Areas – 6 content learning areas and approximately 20 subjects ranging from agriculture to mechanics
-
Peer reviewed – All materials are reviewed by academic peers to ensure rigour
-
Updated Regularly – The curricula is a living document that is regularly updated to strengthen core skills
-
International – Designed for an international audience, IPC curriculum focuses on internationalism, multilingualism and diversity

Nurturing Early Learners - Kindergarten Curriculum Framework
As a licensed and registered preschool, we also adopt facets of the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) – Kindergarten Curriculum Framework (KCF) developed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) Singapore. This ensures that we deliver a robust, holistic and developmentally appropriate educational program that adequately prepares all our students for a successful transition into formal primary school of choice (either local or international school) upon graduating.
